Hi bloggers! The last couple of weeks we have been doing a Google drawing about a fruit and vegetable that we picked. I picked the carrot. This all started a couple of weeks ago when we did a food quiz on heaps of fruit. Then after that we all pick the fruit and made a Google drawings about it. We had to get as much information on it as we could such as their nutritional value, health benefits and a recipe on it. Then we made a food SmackDown slide that everybody put their Google drawings on. Then once they had done that they screencastified them explaining their drawing.

Student Led Tool Kits
Hi blogger today I'll be telling you about the student led toolkits at Hay Park School on Tuesday the 28th of May. Some of us got picked to go to Hay Park School and be rotated around stations. There were different presenters and they presented different things like HP Reveal, Droning High, Stop Motion Animations and Xtra. It was very very fun because they had a big field and they had a bake sale and they had a massive playground. We also got a chance to win prizes and the prizes were headphones and you also had to complete a little slideshow throughout the time so you could get an Ako hiko sticker.
We went there in different cars and when we got there was a slide show up on the screen telling us the wifi password. We put a name on a sheet so we could win prizes and also told them that you were there. There are 5 school in the Ako hiko cluster and it was very very hard to get the wifi to work with everybody in the place. When we went out for morning tea and lunch we all went out in a school groups and year groups. My favourite station was Droning High.

anti-bullying
Hi bloggers, today I will be telling you about our anti-bullying cards that we made. We all made three
or more cards and and saved them all up. Then on Friday we all went out and posted them it was really fun because we went all the way around the school area to every street and posted every last card. We were all in four groups, there were the three teachers and one adult we all had each other's cards because they all got mixed up randomly. Then we all just picked 3 cards, we went around the neighbourhood until we ran out of cards then we went back to the school. Hopefully, we have made a lot of people feel good about themselves. What could you do today, to make someone happy?

Gumboot Friday
Gumboot Friday
Gumboot Friday is used to raise money for mental health and to help people. Also there is a give a little page that has got over $800,000.00. So give a little to to help those kids and people who are stuck in negative thoughts. Every dollar that is raised is used to help the people. We also made cards with positive notes on them that everyone made in Te Waka Ako. Once we had enough we all split out into groups and spread around the neighborhood to give them to the people and to uplift the community. They decided to choose gumboots because people were getting stuck in negative thoughts and they described it as getting stuck in mud. So they picked gumboots because Gumboots go straight through the mud and it also acts as straight through those negative thoughts. This relates to our inquiry topic that is Hauora-Wellbeing and mental health is in our wellbeing. I think this was a really good experience because it teaches people to be really kind. You feel much more happier after this because you have made other people happier. We inspired them with these notes. I think this because people feel much happier after someone has given them compliments on how they are. To keep going and believe in themselves that's why I think this is important.

special Assembly
Hi bloggers yesterday we did a special assembly to remember the people who were hurt on Friday. We all felt sad for the people who were hurt. We all make special cards to send out to the hospital and the people who helped. All the cards we made we put around a special kowhai tree that the whole school stood around for respect. People from different countries got to put a shovel full of dirt around the tree to show some respect to the people who were kiled and hurt. The Christchurch schools were all in lockdown for 4 hours. I would imagine that would be pretty scary. The last couple of weeks we have been trying to fit as much lockdown practices as we can in case this happens again and might happen to us. That's why we need to practice a lot. Not that long ago on Friday the 22nd we had a community fun day we all had a lot of fun. We also listened to the Call to Prayer and did the 2 minutes silence. We all felt very sad as we remembered but we felt better after we had done it. https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/christchurch-shooting-victims-fund/donations

Cameron pools
Hi blogger! These couple of weeks we have been going to Cameron pools to swim. We have had three (or four weeks) of training. We have had heaps of fun and some days we have played games with life jacket. My favourite part would be when we got to pull each other with pool noodles and we all had to go and do it. We had lots of fun swimming like fish, and we also shared the pool with some juniors on the last day. We all had days we went on, Tuesdays and Thursdays we all had turns so Manukau left to go to the pools first, then Waitemata went and then Hauraki. Every time we went, one of the junior classes went with us. Here are some photos.
